Gleeson Wildfire 2009 (Pix 1)


Most of this area was visible from our front door step....but we still took our Toyota FJ and went across country to get a better vantage point. We watched (and took pictures) as this two story building first caught fire and then erupted into flames. Note the presence of thick black smoke. We found information by talking to our local fire department that the building was used as a storage by a rock company, mining rock for flagstone and the building had several cases of dynamite in it. Most of it "cooked" off (burning and giving off the smoke) with only a few small explosions.
